About: aria2 is a utility for downloading files. The supported protocols
are HTTP(S), FTP, BitTorrent, and Metalink. It has a powerful segmented
downloading ability, downloading a file from multiple sources and multiple
protocols and utilizing your download bandwidth to the maximum. It supports
downloading a file from HTTP(S)/FTP and BitTorrent at the same time, while
the data downloaded from HTTP(S)/FTP is uploaded to the BitTorrent swarm.
Using Metalink's chunk checksums, aria2 automatically validates chunks of
data while downloading a file like BitTorrent.

Changes: This release adds Firefox3 Cookie support, the ability to select
the fastest server(URI) using the download speed observed in the previous
downloads, and the ability to get a timestamp from a remote server and
apply it to a local file. An option to specify the connect timeout has been
added. netrc is now used for HTTP. Please note that *.aria2 files and the
dht.dat file are changed in this release, and are upward-compatible. This
means that this release can resume downloads initiated by older version of
aria2, but the opposite is not true, and this build only saves data in a
new format.

About: Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language for
technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like
syntax. It provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting
that LaTeX does for scientific text. Asymptote is a programming language as
opposed to just a graphics program. It can exploit the best features of
script (command-driven) and graphical user interface (GUI) methods.
High-level graphics commands are implemented in the language itself,
allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.

Changes: Full interactive 3D support has been added, with the option of
generating and embedding 3D PRC data in PDF files or rendering scenes
directly with Asymptote's own fast OpenGL-based renderer. Implicit casts
from 3D to 2D objects were removed. The Circle and Arc routines were fixed.
Autoscaling of graph axes limits is now disabled by default. Optimized and
robust versions of the intersection, windingnumber, inside, and surface
extrema routines were implemented. The lighting routines were replaced by
the OpenGL model. Each Asymptote process once again uses a separate
currentpen.

About: bigtinker is overloaded with applets for rwdtinker, the core
application for a Ruby application framework using the RubyWebDialogs GUI.
Rwdtinker provides a system for developing programs, and uses a Web-based
interface. It allows a developer to combine and create applets to implement
an application. It features built-in bug report submission, a test
framework, and context-sensitive help. Bigtinker can run shell commands
under Linux, use a calculator, build scripts of math commands, run Ruby
commands in a browser, show a calendar, use an address book, look up word
definitions, run a Unix fortune program, and read Gutenberg books. It
includes a hello world application to help in building your own.

Changes: This release changes PDA handling in rwd.rb. It has adds logging,
as well as a log review screen in the tinker back window. It also changes

About: cd2browse is a menu creation program able to make menus out of a
directory tree. It indexes all documents and also provides an offline,
full-text search engine with JavaScript. CD2Browse helps you to publish
documentation on CD/DVD in an easy way.

Changes: On Windows platforms, there was a problem when the directory to
scan was not on the same drive as the resources directory. This caused
indexing on a foreign drive to fail and has been fixed. When the target
directory was not writable, index.pl indexed the current directory; this
has been fixed. A Perl/Tk GUI interface (CD2Browse.pl) is now included. The
GUI allows you to save and restore settings from XML configuration files.
Progress information is now shown, unless you use the -q option. The
resulting browsable icons and thumbnails are now linked with the document.

About: cryptmount is a utility for creating and managing secure filing
systems on GNU/Linux systems. After initial setup, it allows any user to
mount or unmount filesystems on demand, solely by providing the decryption
password, with any system devices needed to access the filing system being
configured automatically. A wide variety of encryption schemes (provided by
the kernel dm-crypt system and the libgcrypt library) can be used to
protect both the filesystem and the access key. The protected filing
systems can reside in either ordinary files or disk partitions. The package
also supports encrypted swap partitions, and automatic configuration on
system boot-up.

Changes: Support for mounting encrypted filesystems created by
cryptsetup-luks was added. Mechanisms for changing passwords on LUKS

Truecrypt running with a minimum of effort under Debian-based Linux systems
(Debian and Ubuntu are officially supported). Truecrypt is an open source
disk encryption software which uses a concept of containers to store
encrypted data. The containers (or volumes) can be read transparently under
Linux and Windows. The utilities create installable *.deb packages from the
sources and those debs can be used in turn to install the encryption
software.

userspace on Linux (using the FUSE kernel module). Similar in design to CFS
and other pass-through filesystems, all data is encrypted and stored in the

About: gnokii is a multisystem tool suite for mobile phones. It provides a
library to communicate with a phone hiding the communication protocol. The
library handles SMS, phonebook, calendar, phone calls, and other mobile

About: Kate is a codec for karaoke and text encapsulation for Ogg. Most of
the time, this would be multiplexed with audio/video to carry subtitles,
song lyrics (with or without karaoke data), etc, but it doesn't have to be.
A possible use of a lone Kate stream would be an e-book. Moreover, the
motion feature gives Kate a powerful means to describe arbitrary curves, so
hand drawing of shapes can be achieved. This was originally meant for
karaoke use, but can be used for any purpose. Motions can be attached to
various semantics, like position or color, so scrolling or fading text can
be defined.

Changes: Numeric entities are now interpreted as decimal rather than
hexadecimal. kate_info_matches_language does better exact/partial matching.
This release tries harder to define kate_int64_t if included by C89 code
not using autoconf. kate_uintptr_t is used in kate/kate.h, which fixes
building when uintptr_t is not found. kate_info_set_language now truncates
according to RFC 4646, and does some basic tag validation. There is more
error checking in the tools.
