[001] - 1060 NetKernel Standard Edition 2.0.3
  by Peter Rodgers (http://freshmeat.net/users/1060/)
  Fri, Feb 11th 2005 09:07

Internet
System :: Operating System

About: 1060 NetKernel Standard Edition is an Application Server that
provides a unique service-oriented abstraction which is a convergence of
the core ideas of the Web and Unix. NKSE is a general purpose modular
infrastructure which comes with powerful and simple XML processing tools.
It may be used for SOAP 1.1, 1.2, and REST Web-Services, JMS MOM, XML
pipeline processing, general systems integration, or as a Web-application
server. The NetKernel abstraction simplifies complexity and thus increases
the scope and potential of the systems built upon it.

Changes: On Win32 platforms, module resource file handles are now closed
more promptly, issues with the RelaxNG DPML schema have been fixed,
various document typos and errors have been fixed, and the backend fulcrum
is now shipped expanded, to aid in deploying additional management tools.

[002] - adesklets 0.3.0
  by S.Fourmanoit (http://freshmeat.net/users/syfou2/)
  Fri, Feb 11th 2005 18:11

Desktop Environment :: Tools
Multimedia :: Graphics

About: adesklets is an interactive Imlib2 console for the X Window system.
 It provides to scripted languages a clean and simple way to write great
looking, mildly interactive desktop integrated graphic applets (aka
"desklets"). It can also be used as a command line oriented graphics
editor, a bit similar to ImageMagick, but with different functionality.

Changes: This is a new minor version release. The package compiles and run
flawlessly on FreeBSD and NetBSD. Events handling has also been internally
streamlined, and the Python binding was extended to support dynamic
modification of caught events (see test/test_events.py). The interpreter
API now exposes everything the author wanted, and will probably not be
expanded much further; everything is pretty much in place to write any
desklet, including animations.

many options to control all aspects of code hiding, and has full support
for all syntax constructs. It is designed for multi-file projects with
mixed C and C++ source and arbitrary heavy use of the C preprocessor. It
includes advanced tools to exclude API symbols from mangling.

Changes: Support for long long ints has been added. Project Manager now
allows you to remove files from a project that are already absent in the
project input directory. Due to improvements in Stunnix Perl Web Server,
Project Manager now runs more reliably on Windows computers with incorrect
network settings. Various bugfixes and improvements all over the code and
documentation have been made.

[058] - Sundew 0.0.2
  by Paul Grosse (http://freshmeat.net/users/paulgrosse/)
  Fri, Feb 11th 2005 09:14

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: HTTP Servers

About: Sundew is an easily configurable script that generates a honeypot
of literally thousands of bogus email addresses. Being static, they can
survive double-checking.

Changes: This release increases the size of the surname list to tens of
thousands and adds the option of not checking for duplicate mail addresses
(with a configuration header in the Perl script). With so many surnames, a
fourth format becomes more useful, and checking increasingly redundant.

Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Software Development :: Libraries

About: SUNDIALS (SUite of Nonlinear and DIfferential/ALgebraic equation
Solvers) provides robust time integrators and nonlinear solvers that can
easily be incorporated into existing simulation codes. It requires
minimal information from the user, allow users to easily supply their own
data structures underneath the solvers, and allows for easy incorporation
of user-supplied linear solvers and preconditioners.

Changes: This release re-orders compiler directives to work better with
C++ compilers. It fixes the redefinition of preprocessor symbols when
generating sundials_config.h. It fixes the bugs in sensitivity
computations, including use of uninitialized memory, and fixes typos in
documentation and example  program documents.

Software Development :: Build Tools

About: tub is a user-mode tool to support large dynamic arrays (up to
2.8GB or so) yet still use shared libraries and dynamic linking under
Linux on x86. It works around TASK_UNMAPPED_BASE being a system-wide
constant instead of an inherited per-process parameter controlled by
setrlimit/getrlimit.

Changes: tub now handles mremap() and works around oddities of gcc
3.3.1-2mdk, such as not inlining calls to memset().

and images can be batch processed using the commandline interface. UFRaw
reads most existing raw formats using Dave Coffin's raw conversion utility
DCRaw, and it supports basic color management using Little CMS, allowing
the user to apply color profiles. For Nikon users, UFRaw has the advantage
that it can read the camera's tone curves. Even if you don't own a Nikon,
you can still apply a Nikon curve to your images.

Communications :: Email
Communications :: Email :: Email Clients (MUA)

About: WapReader provides a WAP-based interface for reading and writing
email from mobile devices that support WAP 1.1 protocol. The program is
used as a gateway between a WAP-enabled mobile device and a plain
POP3/IMAP mail server. With WapReader, a user can read mail, compose new
messages, and delete mail. It uses the IMAP or POP3 protocols for getting
mail and the SMTP protocol for sending mail. WapReader does not require
any SQL server, and is very easy to set up and configure even for an
inexperienced webmaster. WapReader supports base64 and quoted-printable
mail encodings and all charsets supported by iconv().

Changes: This release adds fixes to work with the disabled short_open_tag
option, a connection tester, fixes for a bug with redirecting to a
nonexistent message when the "delete and next" button was pressed (only in
pop3 connections), and the number of unread messages in the folders list.

an application a standard set of base functionality. wxGuide also provides
sample code for each guideline written in C++ using the wxWidgets (formerly
wxWindows) framework. For a seasoned developer it shouldn't be difficult to
adapt these guidelines to other languages or frameworks.

Changes: All code is now Unicode compatible. The help file location can

Internet :: Name Service (DNS)

About: YACY is a distributed Web crawler and also a caching HTTP/HTTPS
proxy. Pages that pass through the proxy are indexed and can be searched
using a built-in HTTP server. YACY peers connect each other and form a
P2P-based index exchange network based on distributed hash tables.
Explicit web crawls can be done locally or collaboratively, forming a
global search and distributed indexing engine for the Web. It also
provides URL filtering with blacklist sharing among other proxy peers,
individual Web/servlet page hosting, a file sharing zone, and a database
engine.

Changes: The remote transmission protocol for indexes to other peers
(using a distributed hash table technique) has been implemented, and
remote searching has been enhanced.
