apt-get upgrade updates kernel

Hi all,
I just upgraded (re-installed actually) to FC4. I have apt-get working
fine, but the default way an upgrade updates the kernel and kernel
related packages bothers me. It's currently upgrading the kernel,
kernel-doc, etc when I execute an apt-get upgrade.
I much prefer the FC3 configuration from the freshrpm's apt-get
installation. I suspect there's a configuration change I'm missing to
return to the behavior seen in FC3, but I can't seem to find it. I've
tried looking at Matthias' config files, patches and the fc3 config
files w/ no luck. The closest thing I've found might be to use the
Hold { } option under RPM in apt.conf and include the regexp kernel
line used to allow duplicates - but I'm not sure this would do what
I want.
Anyone feel similarly and already fixed it?
Or have suggestions?
Thanks for your help,
F.
