At one time Dag had the apt package for FC4 on his site: apt-0.5.15cnc6-4.2.fc4.rf.i386.rpm It's been gone for a long time and I see talk that he's not hosting FC4 RPMS but Dries is hosting them instead, which is great. I have searched several times over the last few months and can no longer find the "apt" package on either Dag's site, Dries site, or rpmforge. Places I have looked and would expect to find it but don't: http://rpmforge.net/user/packages/apt/ http://dag.wieers.com/packages/apt/ I still have the package that I got from Dag's site (listed at the top of this message) so it's not a big deal for me and I can always build my own package if need be. I much prefer to continue using apt for several reasons (One is it's more of a standard across distros and two I just don't like the name "yum"). I always thought apt should have been used from the beginning rather than reinventing the wheel and you guys have always been there to allow me to carry on my charade. I fear that there may be plans to phase apt out although I don't see any talk of it on this FreshRPMS list. I also have never seen anyone complain on this list of not having the apt RPM so it's entirely possible that I've just overlooked it. I've searched Dag's and Dries documentation and can't find mention of the FC4 apt RPM but again I could be overlooking something. Thanks for any light you can shed on any of this or point me to a document on any of the sites mentioned that would explain it? Oh, keep up the AWESOME work! It's is so much appreciated! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
