  Something strange that happend when installing, I have used rpm directly:

# rpm -Uvh firefox-1.5-0.fc4.i386.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
   1:firefox                ########################################### [100%]

  But then the process looks like it is stalled, it didn't return the prompt. 
Using ps I see this:
root     13737  0.5  1.3  21304 13616 pts/5    S+   15:54   0:03 rpm -Uvh 
firefox-1.5-0.fc4.i386.rpm
jamatos  14014  0.0  0.1   5276  2012 pts/2    S+   16:06   0:00 grep rpm

  Could it be some of the scriptlets for post installation?
