Strange, the package doesn't do much upon upgrade :
$ rpm -q --scripts firefox
postinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
update-desktop-database /usr/share/applications
preuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
# is it a final removal?
if [ $1 -eq 0 ]; then
/bin/rm -rf /usr/lib/firefox-1.5/components
/bin/rm -rf /usr/lib/firefox-1.5/extensions
fi
postuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
update-desktop-database /usr/share/applications
You can check if you have "update-desktop-database" running, and kill it
if you do, then investigate. Otherwise, it's possibly "internal" to your
rpm database...
