   There is a -safe-mode option which should start will all extensions 
disabled, FWIW.  At least, there was, despite what --help may or may not say!


   FWIW, I did try rolling my own 1.5.0.1 TB based on my previously posted 1.5 
SRPM and I got the OP's problem: tb just wouldn't start up (no window or 
anything, nor errors on the command line).  I gave up :-/  I think I tried 
remi's as well, but that was the same.

   Is your 1.5 RPM you just linked to /actually/ just 1.5 or 1.5.0.1?
