This is actually a known problem, which I didn't see because I already had
my dvd::rip preferences set. The solution is to go into the preferences
and disable the NPTL workaround.

I'll rebuild the next package with a patch included in order to have that
workaround disabled by default, but people who have already run dvd::rip
will need to change the preference themselves.

Now, with my ~/.dvdrip* files removed and the workaround disabled, I've
got dvd::rip stalling on startup when it scans transcode's module path...
time to investigate this issue now! ;-)
