linux headers

I was about to run an emerge -ua system . I noticed that it wants to upgrade linux-headers to 2.6.8.1-r2 from the current (on my system) 2.4.23 . I am still running a 2.4 kernel (a topic for another thread). Will things break if I upgrade the linux-headers package? sorry if that sounds like a dumb newbie question and not very alpha specific.... Jeff D __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
