Questions about helping the infrastructure team

Hello,I'm writing to express my interest in contributing and helping the Gentoo Infrastructure team.
I work as an IT administrator, study IT and also run my own homelab, so I have hads-on expirience with netwroking, Linux systems and server management. I also help the Fedora Infrastructure team, so I have a general idea of how opensource projects are run.
I'm comfortable with containerization, virtualization, automation, little bit of LDAP and other general sysadmin stuff, but I'd be happy to learn something new.
Is there any proccess for newcomers? Any way to get a feel for the ongoing work?
