Reviving the French translation of the GWN : gentoo-doc-fr feedback and questions

Hi guys,

I saw your call on the GWN about reviving the GWN translations and made a quick
survey about it on the French doc list (CC'ed here).

There were interesting points about the fact that there was few feedback on that
translation which eventually led to dropping it. After a while, there were
attempts to revive it (before Ulrich took the job over from Yuji Carlos Kosugi)
but not replies from gwn-feedback at the time despite several mails !

So here are some questions :
+ how many people on the other teams are handling the translations? This to know
how many people are needed to have a smooth work. From what I see from previous
editions of the French translation, 6 people were in.
+ is there a list for GWN translators/translations (I only see
[email protected])?
+ are there any facilities provided for translators such as scripts to split up
the GWN/automatically translate fixed parts (such as 'Bugzilla' and 'Moves, add
and changes' sections) to make the dull job automatic ?

Thanks for the info, we are currently evaluating the possibility of reviving the
french translation if there is sufficient interest in doing so.

Vincent

Note : the last french person known to have CVS access was Matthieu Montaudouin
