hi,

I am sorry if this topic has been brought up in the past.

I wanted to install gentoo in my PC, eventhough I already have a Linux distro in my HD. I just happen to have a spare HD which I connect it into my IDE1. I am planning to install gentoo in this HD, is the booting process will recognise this HD and use this instead of the priimary one (IDE0)?

According to the gentoo install guide, I need to create 3 partition (root, boot, swap). Since I have installed lilo in my /dev/hda, do I need to have another /boot? Is it possible to load gentoo from my current linux distro (/dev/hda)? I am using lilo as my boot loader.

thank you

willy
