Yeap. 
Thats how the telnet kit is packaged.(hey, an optimized telnetd is 32K
big. and telnetlogin is 6.4K. the client is 72K) Though if you only want
to connect and query, I suggest you use "net-analyzer/netcat" Which is a
wonderful little proggie for that sort of thing.


nc <host> <port>

or nc -p 62001 host port  (to give a connection from local port 62001)


on the other hand.. nc is 396K big... : )  (and has server, portprobe,
udp and other neato capabilities)
