I have completed my install but am having trouble booting my new kernel. I
have compiled a few in the past couple of years so i am familiar, but not
entirely proficient in the process.
Upon restarting my system ... grub comes up, i select my Gentoo install and
it starts to boot... until the following line : "usb.c: registered new
driver iforce" (this line appears with or without the joystick being
connected to the system) and simply hang there indefinitely.

I recompiled without iforce enabled within the joystick config but it still
shows up upon reboot. I deleted the original bzImage that caused the initial
problem and replaced it with the new one...

I'm not sure why it would be listed if i did not select the driver ?

Any ideas of where to turn next?

TIA
