Hi, Ok, as a rookie on this dist, I don't want to scream about "bugs", BUT when applications I just recently installed (emerged) just isn't there anymore, then one would wonder... Here's what: I use the gentoo-sources kernel and wanted to add fat support. So I did a makeconfig and added it and recompiled - followed the install document (first mounting /boot). After that things went to its present stage, apps missing... I first noticed that the /etc/init.d/kde startup script was missing when according to the desktop install doc issued 'rc-update add kdm default'. It just dis not find anything to add to the runlevel. I'm not new to linux (been running Debian 2+ yrs) and these kind of things don't happen unless two things being me doing something horradicly wrong or something is broken. Would someone please guide me towards a functioning system? I do not intend to give up, I like the concept of this distro, but need it running smootly to learn it right... :) Thanks, Pontus
