Yes, It's a newbies list. However, there is nothing wrong with learning to ask an intelligent question. When someone says "X doesn't work.", that helps NOT ONE BIT. Now, if someone says "I'm trying to install X, and it's not working. I did A, and the error I got was E, then I tried B and C, but got the same result." then perhaps someone can offer some help. It's always a good idea to include: - what command or procedure failed. - exactly what error you received. - what other approaches did you try, if any. (What were those results?) - What are the versions of all the pieces involved. The above advice is true whether the the list is -newbies, -users, or -dev. We are not mind readers. If we don't understand the problem, we can't offer advice as to how to fix it. -Mark On Mon, 2002-10-07 at 10:16, Mike Frysinger wrote: > > This is a terrible question (see > > http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html for what to do next > > time). > > > > Can you try again, and put some thought into the question.
