 Thanks, everyone, for the informative replies!  I've got the new drive 
partitioned and it's formatting now (slowly, because I'm doing read-write 
tests).  Later tonight I should be able to copy everything over.

 One further question:  Should I be concerned that both the old and new 
drive report that they don't support DMA?
