Installing OSX after gentoo

Hi I have successfully installed gentoo on my ibook g4. I now want to install OSX (I may have to go to Apple for some service). Is it possible to install OSX without disturbing my linux installation ? I can create a HFS+ partition at the end of my disk but will the OSX install leave my linux partitions alone ? Another question. Currently pressing the power button causes the ibook to sleep. I also want to be able to shutdown using the power button.
