Well, I'm using Xfce, but the corresponding settings are enabled.

Good point:
$ udisksctl status
Error connecting to the udisks daemon: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.freedesktop.UDisks2: Process org.freedesktop.UDisks2 received signal 5
$
So after lots of searching, trying and head scratching I again downgrad-
ed "sys-fs/udisks" and one of its dependencies ("sys-apps/util-linux")
which had been upgraded together with it and rebooted using my previous
kernel where everything had worked up to now, but to my big surprise now
any call to "udisksctl" with some argument produces the same error mes-
sage as above and nothing is mounted!
What's going on here? Malfunctioning hardware? Or one of the other 64
packages I upgraded on Tuesday? But which one?
Befuddled,
Rainer
