Good suggestion. So I laid my laptop upside down on my desk and removed
its cover. This drive is located in some sort of compartment of the
chassis, its head in the socket to the left and two rubber "feet" press-
ing against the compartment's right end. This did not look too stable,
and less so when I again turned the laptop into its working position,
causing gravity to slightly slant the drive. Maybe these rubber "feet"
softend or shrunk. I fixed that by padding the compartment's right end
a bit, so the rubber "feet" now get a somewhat better grip.

Up to now this worked, though two successful resumes from hibernation do
not really make a reliable statistic ...

Anyway: thank you Michael for looking into this "smartctl" output :-)

Sincerely,
  Rainer
