The reasoning behind the mask is sound, but the issue with the 
alternatives is
that they do not replace keepassxc 100%; app-admin/keepass crashes when 
you try
to open a file, and it can't open databases that have an empty password
(and this is what I am dealing with as an export from some obscure tool 
I
need to use at work).
kpcli is also mentioned as an alternative, but that can't import V4 
databases.

I am tempted to fork keepassxc and port it to Qt6, but first I try to
workaround these problems.
