May I recommend building your own machine from parts ?
-- it's not difficult & if anything is defective, it's only  1  part.
Lots of people on this list do that, I've done it  6 times
& there's lots of help here + out there.  No problem re software :
once the machine is assembled, you follow Gentoo instructions,
use System Rescue to get started & copy in whatever files you need.
None of your hardware is ever contaminated by M$ Losedows or similar.
