I noticed today the package '=sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-6.18.33-r1' is
asking to be emerged again, as if it were not already installed in my
system:

Well, it was installed and has been running since a week ago:

~ $ uname -r
6.18.33-gentoo-r1

I let emerge run and it was reinstalled:

# genlop sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-6.18.33-r1
 * sys-kernel/gentoo-sources

     Wed May 27 08:27:12 2026 >>> sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-6.18.33-r1
     Sun Jun  7 10:50:36 2026 >>> sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-6.18.33-r1

This is what it reported:

 * Messages for package sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-6.18.33-r1:

 * Note: Even though you have successfully unmerged
 * your kernel package, directories in kernel source location:
 * /usr/src/linux-6.18.33-gentoo-r1
 * with modified files will remain behind. By design, package managers
 * will not remove these modified files and the directories they reside
in.
 * For more detailed kernel removal instructions, please see:

I don't understand. Why would it be re-installed today? Can anyone
shed some light into this?
