HW watchdog on R815

hi everybody,

I'd like to ask how do you use, set up, watchdog on these boxes?
Linux does not seem to create /dev/watchdog on these.
Do you rather prefer OMSA(give it provides these functions) 
over OS'es watchdog?
I looked up in the docs but only bit related to my question 
was a mention about settings in the BIOS.
