Well, I'm currently reevalutating switching to ACPI.

The problem persists no matter in whatever combination (apm, acpi, no
pwmgmt, etc.) My biggest problem is, that it's a trial-and-crash
process, and the laptop can run for days without a problem and then it
chrashes (well it's either a powerdown, or a suspend/sleep state from
which it doesn't wake :( ). Additionally it doesn't happen when the
laptop is under load, it usually happens when it is idle. (My wife, it's
her laptop, remarked that it shuts down much more often when I removed
the PCMCIA WLAN card :( )
