Greetings folks, I may have asked this before but it can't remember and my problem just got a bit worse... PCG-GR390, using OSS modules on kernel-2.4.20-9_ajg4 kernel (RH9) for sound. For some time now whenever I'm on battery power any access to a moving part or part that has any RF capabilities has generated a consistent low level static over my on board sound. This occurs even during the moving boot logo. Making me believe it's not sound module related. It just got a bit worse. I've never had the problem as long as I was on a hard power line. It just started occuring sporaddically even then. Here are the things that I know of that are audible during use: Disk (cd or hd) access Fan being on at any speed WiFi traffic on a PCMCIA card Intensive screen draws even will generate something I don't know what else might cause it, for all I know standard network traffic will as well. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, what was your solution? My laptop is already well out of waranty and being without it for a couple of days while doable is very difficult as I use it quite a bit when I'm not at home at my workstation. Thanks, -Andy-
