I believe it depends on your CPU. I have a Crusoe in my Vaio and I also 
get the "<not supported>" entry.

If you have a Crusoe too, try using "longrun" ..

I used to have this working before I installed SuSE 8.2 .. now it 
complains ..

longrun: error opening /dev/cpu/0/cpuid: No such device
make sure your kernel was compiled with CONFIG_X86_CPUID=y
