Are you sure you didn't get one with your Sony? A friend of mine was trying
to get one, but I found $40 for a simple cable way too expensive. When I
showed him the one that came with my Panasonic MiniDV, he remembered seeing
that before, and found the cable hiding in the box in which his notebook
came.

BTW, I didn't get any output from this cable in Linux. Depending on your
video hardware, there might be software to activate TV-Out. But I think I
heard the manufacturers of TV-out hardware are required to scramble the
output (macro something?), otherwise you could just copy your own DVDs to
your own VCR for backup, which is of course not allowed in some countries.
That might be the reason why the specs of the TV-out chip are not published.
