How do you set --directisa on a Red Hat 9 system? I have looked all over my RC files and can't even find hwclock mentioned. Thanks. *SECOND TRY* I modified the boot up script /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit to call hwclock with the --directisa flag but I am still experiencing a hard kernel freeze with the last message being 'EVEVENT-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed even [00000000]' this message shows up twice and are the last things I hear from the kernel before having to reboot. I have tried these kernels 2.4.21-rc8-laptop1 2.4.21-rc4-laptop0, 2.4.21 w/ latest acpi, 2.4.21-ac1 but met not success.
