Thanks John, I'm runnig 2.4.22-pre1, with the ACPI update it supports the VAIO correctly. I've got the hsflinmodem driver working. My problem was in trying to use pctel. Cheers. I've installed pctel 0.9.6 which installs on ttyS15 and irq 255 (isnt that an odd irq to use). However when i load up minicom, using /dev/ttyS15 I get no response from the modem. I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has got this type of modem working with Linux on a Vaio. Have you enabled all the acpi patches? The proper driver is hsflinmodem. But it won't be seen unless acpi is enabled.
