RE: Vaio Z1* and latest ACPI patches *SECOND TRY*

Are you sure it is hwclock?  I had a similar problem on my Z1A trying
to get a working 2.5.69 kernel: Everything I tried would hang very
early in the boot process, but then Brandon sent me his .config file -
starting from that I was able to compile a working kernel.  Other
things didn't work so well, so I went back to 2.4.21-rc3-laptop0.
With the 2.4.21* kernels, I've never had any problems with hanging
during boot or hwclock.  

Probably unrelated, but I mention it because it has "clock"
in the name :-)  I always disable "enhanced real time clock"
support when building a kernel - but I cant remember if I had a 
good reason.

I also have these errors in /var/log/messages:

 evevent-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed event [00000000]
or:
  ACPI-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed event [00000000]

they seem harmless.
