if it's a recent model, that is really bad. However, is it a low-end
cheapo? Cheap laptops these days have desktop processors -- that plus a
small battery could get ya there.

If it's designed to be a laptop, you should get good performance. My
VX88 with a mobile P3 850 and the supersize battery will last eight
hours if I turn down the screen brightness, and easily handles five
hours with the brightness up.

Also, check out the autospeedstep daemon once you've got ACPI working,
it will (shockingly enough) enable automatic speedstepping.
