ACPI orinoco_cs problem

Hi,

I just installed Redhat 9.0, Linux 2.4.20 on my old Sony Vaio PCG-R505TS. I got
the current ACPI patch for Linux 2.4.20 and patched the kernel. After
installing the kernel, my Lucent wireless card complains as follows:

Jul 18 14:58:30 localhost kernel: orinoco_cs: RequestIRQ: Resource in use
Jul 18 14:58:31 localhost cardmgr[3326]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable

Yesterday, I was able to bring up and use the wireless card a couple of
times. However, today it refuses to come up. I have tried Linux 2.4.21 with the
ACPI patch for that kernel but I have the same problem.

Has anyone successfully solved this problem?

I have a couple of other problems with this laptop right now. First, the fan
seems to be on most of the time and it is extremely loud. Does Linux ACPI allow
control of fan settings on the Vaio? Second, I have been unable to do
suspend-to-ram. I don't care too much about suspend-to-disk, but suspend-to-ram
would be really nice. I will appreciate any suggestions.
