Re: RedHat Severn (9.0.93 beta)

I too have just installed RH beta-1 (severn) on my PCG-FR130
without any problems.  Other than having to rebuild my nVidia
driver, everything still works great (HW accel 3D, sound, USB,
10/100 LAN, Orinoco wireless LAN (Prism II-based)).  ACPI
seems to be supported through loadable modules (install 'acpid'
RPM package and add modprobe's for processor, battery, and
ac).  I have not yet tried the firewire, but I use the USB to sync
with my PDA and have no problems.  If you don't mind a big,
heavy laptop with only 1024x768 resolution display, this is a
great machine for Linux!
