Hi all, I have got my Vaio just for a few days, and I'm trying to set up things. I have compiled redhat updates kernel 2.4.20-19.9. It shouldn't need the acpi patches, as I checked that. BTW, now I can understand if the AC adaptor is connected or not, but the battery modules does not work, means: [behdad@mces behdad]$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/*/* Present: no Present: no Present: no Present: no Another thing, when I do cat /proc/acpi/events, I see nothing. What actions create events? Another thing, I insmoded sonypi, and now I see log entries when I use Fn keys, but nothing more. I have also insmoded speedstep, so I can change the CPU freq. I have installed acpi and acpid packages too. I've got some questions, any help, or precise answer to qny of them is highly appreciated: - How should I fix the battery module?\- - How should I use sonypi? Any applications around? - Anything like gnome's battstat-applet that uses acpi instead of apm? How people usually use the acpi thing? - Either with apm, or acpi, when mI do sleep or suspend, or anything else, I get back, actually I see no signs of getting back. I have set up resume=/dev/hdxy, but that should be related to the suspend to disk, what about the others? I did echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep. - Anything else that can be caught by sonypi module other than Fn keys? - Any ready systems that sets cpu speed based on acpi output (on battery, ...)? Well, I really need some help. Please do that. Behdad -- Behdad Esfahbod 3 Mordad 1382, 2003 Jul 25 http://behdad.org/ [Finger for Geek Code] If you do a job too well, you'll get stuck with it.
