Hi!

I've been just wondering if anyone here knows that:
a) does the FX201 support 512MB DIMMs (giving 2x512MB -> 1GB RAM).
b) has anyone put a 1300MHz into a Vaio FX201? (the orginal Duron 700
differs in a little in the voltage, but there are some articles on
hardware sites that suggest that the newer Durons are very tolerant to
the older Vcore voltage)
c) should I expect any problems when I replace the 10GB harddisc with a
newer 40 or 80GB disc?
d) are slimline laptop optical drives standardized? Can I replace the
CDROM drive with a standard DVD-CDRW combo drive?

Any ideas, etc.?

(for the motivation: The FX201 cases seem quite stable, at the moment,
and upgrading them seems to make econmical sense: I can upgrade 2
laptops to quite acceptable specs for less than buying 1 lowend [say
cheapest] laptop.)

TIA,

Andreas
