Sound on PCG-GRX670

From the bit of googling I've done, it looks like I'm not the only one
who's experiencing strange things w/ the audio on my VAIO.
I've got a GRX670 and the sound will only play in small, second long bits.
The really odd thing is that it will play normally only when the USB
mouse is moved constantly.
With 'lshw', I've been able to determine that a lot of devices are using
the same IRQ:
# lshw |grep -i irq |sort |uniq
configuration: driver=cardbus irq=3
configuration: driver=e100 irq=9
configuration: driver=radeonfb irq=9
configuration: driver=intel810_audio irq=9
configuration: driver=usb-uhci irq=9
So I can see why the audio may be affected by the use of a USB device and
verified that on the XP side, the same configuration is set.
I'm using 2.4.21, the "i810_audio" and "ac97_codec" kernel drivers loaded
as modules, but has anyone been able to get audio on their similar VAIO
model working properly?
Cheers,
Mark
