Impossible. I double-checked my code and dmidecode 2.1 just can't
display "DMI 0.0 present" anymore. It has been fixed one year ago!

I don't think the new version will change that (if the checksum is
really bad, dmidecode won't keep quiet) but you should have less bugs
and more output.

Possible. Another possibility is /dev/nvram, but that would be more
obscure, of course.
