RE: Installing linux on GRT100

Thanks for the reply. Okay here are the details..
Harware..
GRT1002A
Display Card: Nvidia GeForce4 420.

With linux redhat 8.0 i wasnt able to even start the installation. But with
9.0 I am able to boot up in linux but no GUI.
I have downloaded the nvidia driver from their site and installed it on
laptop. when I try to run redhat-config-xf86config the nvidia start screen
comes up then after that it hangs up. Hence the screen in which linux asks
to press yes or no doesent comes.

I have also attached with the mail the XF86Config file.
If any other info is needed I can send that also in case I am missing it
here..

Any help would be very much appreciated as I am dying to see the gui on
linux.

How are we supposed to help with that little information?

Installing nvidia's driver is usually easy and straightforward, so if it
doesn't work, either there's some reason specific to your laptop, or you
made a mistake at some point. Unfortunately, if you don't tell us what
you did and where the problem is, there's nothing we can do to help you.
