I have used knoppix with pretty good success.  It is a
great tool to have in case of back-up.  A bootable CD
with over 2gb of compress untilities on it.  I have a
GR390 - Cisco wireless, display, usb serial adapters,
modems, lan and mounting ntfs/fat filesystems all work
from straight out.  Sound is flakey and no acpi nor
jogdial.  The reason I like this is cause if you are
having any issues with your other OS's on your machine
and are in need of apps like hyperterminal/minicom,
browser/email, ssh etc in a hurry, you just boot and
go...
