PCG-NVR23, playing audio CDs (success)

Hi,

I've had a PCG-NVR23 for quite a while now, and one thing I'd never
managed to get working was playing audio CDs.  I could rip them, but no
sound ever came out from grip or xmms.  A fellow NVR23 owner mentioned
something about "digital playback" to me and after some swift googling
I discovered the xmms "cdread" plugin (gentoo: emerge xmms-cdread).  I
can now play audio CDs after configuring the Output option to "read
digital CD audio".  Play file /dev/cdrom.

Hope that helps someone out there.

(Still no joy with sonypi...)
