Re: /proc/acpi/battery

Well do you have any /proc/acpi directories?
These get created when acpi starts up, and if they are
ALL missing it would imply acpi is not running.

However, not having battery just means it could
not sense your battery for some reason.

You should review your /var/log/boot.log to see
if acpi was started or if apm was started instead.
