[tlinux-users:07346] m200 issues??? I'm pretty happy, room for improvements?

What is your success rate? better than mine? I'd like to hear how you  
fixed it, whatever it is, maybe someone could gather this info for a  
webpage that could compliment the excellent guide on "dual elephants" (do  
a google search)

this probably is relevant for m200 and similar machines (m4, m300,  
others?). As far as I know, the issues are;

*bluetooth built in needs initializing patch that will not be added to the  
kernel ever due to code quality (I do not have built in bluetooth, is it  
worth it, or even useable on suse for instance?
*sd reader does not have a working linux driver (it sould be really cool  
if this slot supported mmc on linux, but that might be a hardware issue)
*dpms is buggy or non-functional (any workarounds?)
*irda is really hard to activate, I got an issue with the touchscreen  
using the serialport, and never got it working
*wacom needs special driver for right click to work (any compile or setup  
tricks here that you know of?)


I am really happy with my m200, besides the powersupply quitting for the  
forth time or something (ah warranty;) bah, quality;(), I really do like  
this computer with Linux. I am now running suse 10 on this baby with  
touchscreen working through a sax2 setup (had to add "Option "ForceDevice"  
"ISDV4"" to xorg.conf and "setserial /dev/ttyS0 port 0x338 autoconfigure"  
to boot.local) and I added the wacom driver optimized for portege 3500 to  
get right click function on the wacom pen (found an optimized driver on  
http://newsletter.toshiba-tro.de/main/index.html , look for install guides  
or something).


On suse 10, this is all I really had to do to get the computer working  
like a charm. I activated suspend to ram through the powermanagement  
module in yast, I tried using dpms for blanking of the screen (sax2  
alternative), which now works partially (needs a f1 and f7 to resume from  
blank screen;( ) Also ofcourse I installed the nvidia drivers through you  
(do this, then you do not have to update the drivers with each update of  
the kernel)

Does anyone know a laptop which works better? I'd really like to know for  
my next laptop:)
