As far as  I understood, his Linux is able to connect to internet but 
what he wants is to connect to the other computers in the network. Those 
computers are running windows. He may have setup a ssh server or an ftp 
server on the windows machines but he didn't say that. What I really 
meant is that with so little information is practically impossible to 
know what is the problem (if there is any problem at all). So, the first 
candidate in my list of *suppositions* is SAMBA, what is yours?
