Hello Ed,

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1605, and I found that it didn't recognize 
some things with Mandrake 10.0 (the 2.6.7 kernel).  So I installed 
Mandrake 9.2 (the 2.4 kernel), and it worked just fine for all I needed 
it for.  I purchased a Toshiba Satellite 1625CDT last spring and 
installed Mandrake 9.2. (My daughter has that computer now.)  I never 
investigated to see if the problem was with the version of the kernel or 
with the version of Mandrake.
