I am continuing to get upset with this M400.

After calling Toshiba, I was able to get the secret string needed to convert
the drive on the Portege from RAID to JBOD. Just for the record... it's
"1234".

It didn't help very much.

Neither did Toshiba's Tech Support. They told me that my hard drive was
controlled by the Intel 945GM Express chip. That's the graphics chipset.

Sigh.

On the plus side... even though SuSE Pro 10 didn't recognize the drive or
controller, Ubunto did.

...but Ubunto was not able to find the wireless NIC, the ethernet Nic, or
the correct Xserver to run.

Working on it...
