I started exercising my Battery. It appears that just leaving the thing
plugged in all the time flacks out the battery or the sensors related to the
battery. I actually have a service call in about the shutdowns because they
were also happening in WindowsXP. However, since I have started working the
battery they have stopped.
I'll leave the laptop running and unplugged until the thing is about ready to
shut down because of low power, and then plug it in. I have been able to put
the laptop under some very heavy loads with no recurrence of the sudden
shutdowns.
