Hi!. I have the same computer satellite A105-S361 but I have the Fedora Core 5. The main problem is the cooler. It doesn't work for me. I tryed many things. But, I'm giving up. I'll change my Toshiba for a HP notebook in the next weak, if it doesn't work. Below, same answers for my problem from the list. Maybe It can help you. If your cooler is working, please, advise me, then I'll not change my computer. And thanks for the answers of: Vassilis, Mikkel and Howard. Obs: I think that I have the Toshiba BIOS. Ellertson <[email protected]> ___________________ You can probably check the fan by looking at /proc/acpi/fan/FAN0/state. You may be able to control the fan with fnfx. There is also a fan program in Toshiba Utilities that may work. I don't know if your laptop have the Toshiba BIOS, or the Pheonix BIOS. They do not work with the Pheonix BIOS. (I have an A105-S4004, and tey do not work on it. The fan is not BIOS controlled.) Mikkel from Vassilis Koutavas <[email protected]> _________________ depending on your BIOS, you will need to use ACPI, or APM (I think fnfx works with APM). Try installing fnfx first, since it is easier. You can also try booting from the latest knoppix cd which has good acpi support and see the /proc/acpi there. If it works with knoppix then you need to recompile your kernel with acpi support (look for howto's about ACPI). ___________________________________
