I have the same problem with my Toshiba M45-S355

The componnent FnFx (http://fnfx.sourceforge.net/), toshiba_utils and
omnibook (http://sourceforge.net/projects/omke/) don´t work with my laptop.

My big problem is with brightness. Everytime I turn-on the laptop, the bright
is MAXIMUM and is very hard work with this "sun shine" in my eyes :o(

So... I need turn on the laptop by Windows XP (available in GRUB) to reduce
the bright to MINIMUM and restart the laptop to use Linux, because every
first boot the brightness is MAXIMUM.

Why Toshiba don´t insert a option in BIOS to change value of brightness? Or
better: Make FnFx (Linux) work on Toshiba laptops :-)
