I took the punt and bought one and received it last night.  I installed
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS and pretty much everything works as expected.  Hibernate
is fine.  Suspend works but I suspect it isn't 100% - the temperature
reported by acpi -V was wrong after a suspend.  I'll be testing all that
a lot more.

I briefly tried the card reader - but support wouldn't be in that
version of the kernel (2.6.15).  There is no mmc_block module available.
The device is the same one mentioned in the thread "Internal SD Card..."
(Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments Unknown device 803b)

I haven't tried to install bioapi or whatever is required for the
fingerprint reader (0483:2016 SGS Thomson Microelectronics Fingerprint
Reader).

The correct resolution was detected and DRI is on without any manual
intervention.

The laptop runs nicely.
